Strange S60 (9.75" ring gear): 222.8 lbs
Moser M9 (9" ring gear): 205.6 lbs
My Aluminum Axle (8.625" ring gear): 149.8 lbs
The axle is un-sprung weight so it has a dramatic effect on your shock
and springs ability to keep a consistent force between the tire and road
surface. I made it a personal challenge to get this axle as light as
possible. I was able to build a stronger axle that is slightly
lighter than stock, yet significantly lighter than the aftermarket axles
of a similar size.
